According to the results of scientific research of Chinese image medicine and Zhong Yuan Qigong from 2017 to 2019

    During the period of validity (from 2017 to 2019) of the international program of scientific research of the Chinese image medicine (CIM) and Zhong Yuan Qigong (ZYQ), a number of important theoretical and applied results were obtained, namely:

  1. The object and subject of the scientific direction of CIM research are formulated.
  2. The requirements for the scientific theory of CIM are formulated.
  3. The methodology of CIM research in the framework of classical, non-classical and post-non-classical scientific rationality is justified.
  4. The axiomatic-deductive strategy of organizing the traditional and scientific theory of CIM is justified, in particular, the organization of knowledge in e-learning systems for CIM, which meets the requirements of the semantic quality of electronic courses in the preparation, advanced training of image therapists and online training of the Zhong Yuan Qigong system.
  5. The structure of the scientific theory of CIM is developed, which is consistent with the structure of the theory of Integrative scientific medicine and the traditional theory of CIM.
  6. A system of logical structural computer-interpreted models of the CIM theory has been developed that satisfy the requirements of semantic quality for it.
  7. A generalized conceptual model of Reality (Life) in CIM has been developed, which details and concretizes the traditional model “Jing- Qi- Shen” for CIM and Zhong Yuan Qigong, synthesizes Ken Wilber’s all-level-all-sector model and “the substrate-energy-information” general scientific model, and is the basis for nosology generation in CIM.
  8. A methodology for the extraction of knowledge in the field of CIM and Zhong Yuan Qigong has been developed.
  9. A conceptual analysis of the basic concepts (“Image”, “Chi”, “Emptiness”, “Jing”, “Shen”) of CIM and Zhong Yuan Qigong in terms of modern science is carried out, which is the basis for the formation of the terminological-conceptual apparatus of the scientific theory of CIM.
  10. A general program of clinical trials of CIM based on the statements of evidence-based medicine and taking into account the specific activities of the image therapist has been developed.
  11. It was made a number of experiments of assessing the quality (accuracy and reliability) of diagnosing a patient’s condition using CIM methods.
  12. Requirements are formulated, the general architecture and interface designs of an integrated onto-oriented information-analytical environment for scientific research, professional healing and e-learning of Chinese image medicine are developed, which as its components include the following systems: the image-therapist professional healing information system, knowledge base CIM, an expert system for supporting the of diagnostic and therapeutic decisions in CIM, an information system e-learning of CIM, information research system of CIM.
  13. Fragments of the CIM ontology are developed, which is the basis of the CIM knowledge base and allows you to unify, standardize the technology for presenting information (data and knowledge) in the field of CIM, eliminates subjective factors, polysemantic, fuzzy concepts, and images that CIM therapists use in explicit or implicit form diagnostic and therapeutic decision making.
  14. The first version of a multimedia electronic textbook has been developed for the study and practice of the first stage of the Zhong Yuan Qigong on the «Eliademy» This tutorial integrates various types of educational information: text, sound, photo and video information.

Publication status of research results in a framework of the Program

As part of the Program, 35 scientific papers are currently published, a list of which is given below. All publications are grouped into the following three groups:

  1. Publications in peer-reviewed international scientific journals and collections of scientific conferences of international level, which are included in the scientometric databases Scopus and Web of Science [1-5].

Plans for further implementation of the Program

Over the coming years, it is planned to carry out such work as part of the International Program for the Research of Chinese Image Medicine and Zhong Yuan Qigong:

  1. Preparation and publication of the first scientific monograph devoted to the studies of CIM and Zhong Yuan Qigong conducted in the framework of the international program.
  2. Defense of the first dissertation in the world for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, the subject area of research of which is CIM and Zhong Yuan Qigong, in particular, the dissertation by A.R. Orobchuk on the topic: “Ontological modeling of Chinese image-medicine for the development of the information-analytical environment of its scientific research, professional healing activities and e-learning”, specialty “Computer science and information technology”.
  3. Formation of an international consortium of universities, research institutes, public organizations and individuals to participate in international grant projects under the International Program of Scientific Research CIM and Zhong Yuan Qigong.
  4. Formation of a collection of successful cases of treatment using the methods of Chinese image medicine in the framework of evidence-based medicine.
  5. Development of a curriculum, lecture and practically oriented material for the content blocks “Fundamentals of Integrative Scientific Medicine: Theory, Practice, and Information Technology”, “Chinese Image Medicine in the Light of Evidence-Based Medicine”, “Workshop on the preparation of a qualitative description of treatment cases using CIM methods for their publication and lighting at conferences” as part of the training programs for advanced training of CIM specialists.
  6. Development and introduction into the mass operation of a multimedia electronic textbook “Zhong Yuan Qigong System: II-III degree” in Russian and English.
  7. Development of the first active prototype of the Image Therapist information system.
  8. Preparation and publication of scientific papers devoted to philosophical, theoretical, experimental, and information-technological scientific research of CIM and Zhong Yuan Qigong as components of Integrative Scientific Medicine in international and national peer-reviewed journals, in particular, included in the scientometric databases Scopus and Web of Science.

 Conclusions

Given the results of scientific research of Chinese image medicine and Zhong Yuan Qigong from 2017 to 2019, their wide publication in various scientific journals, collections of materials of scientific conferences and professional forums, the placement of these publications on publicly available electronic resources, we can confirm the successful implementation the first stages of the international research program of Chinese image medicine and Zhong Yuan Qigong and significant prospects for its further implementation in the context of the formation of Integrative scientific medicine.

The success of the further implementation of the international program of scientific research of Chinese image medicine and Zhong Yuan Qigong substantially depends on the active social position of scientists, specialists in the field of folk and traditional medical systems, as well as on sufficient funding for the planned research and technological developments. In this context, research institutes, educational institutions, associations, public organizations, charitable foundations and individuals (scientists, traditional and traditional medicine specialists, philanthropists) are invited to cooperate in the following areas:

  • conducting original research in the framework of the Program;
  • joining existing research within the framework of the Program;
  • financial and other material support for the implementation of the Program;
  • information and advertising support for the implementation of the Program.
Report on Research Results of Chinese Image Medicine and Zhong Yuan Qigong in 2018,
Conducted According to the International Scientific Program for 2017-2023

The program of research of Chinese Image Medicine (CIM) and Zhong Yuan Qigong (Program) is aimed at conducting comprehensive research on Chinese Image Medicine and Zhong Yuan Qigong in order to create their theoretical and experimental scientific foundations and to achieve two prospective global goals, namely:

  1. The entry of CIM and ZYQ into the fold of Integrative scientific medicine, which will contribute to the legalization, establishing and growth of their prestige at the national, international and world levels, as well as increasing the effectiveness of CIM specialists through CIM theory and practice standardization and implementation of the latest intellectualized information systems for the organization and coordination of activities, training and advanced training of the international community of CIM specialists.
    2. The development of scientific theories, models, methods, as well as informational and analytical means of Integrative scientific medicine and related sciences (biology, complex systems physics, artificial intelligence, cognitive psychology, semiotics) based on classical and non-classical types of scientific rationality, the paradigm of rational holism and subjective ontologies that take into account the internal (semantic, spiritual, ideal) dimensions of reality and man.

 

The program is aimed at the developing of new scientific concepts, models, methods, theories of Chinese Image Medicine and Integrative medicine using the theoretical and methodological approach of modern science; carrying out comprehensive objective instrumental, laboratory and statistical studies of the course of physical and physiological (biophysical, biochemical, bio-informational) processes in the human body under the influence of a CIM therapist and individual practice of ZYQ; clinical trials of CIM and ZYQ methods within the framework of the requirements and standards of modern probative medicine; development and maintenance of an integrated informational and analytical environment of scientific research, professional healing and CIM training.

At the beginning of 2017, a team of scientific researchers and CIM practitioners including Lupenko S., Vakulenko D., Pavlishyn A., Sverstiuk A., Horkunenko A., Orobchuk A., Pomazkina T. was organized to implement the CIM Research Program.

During the period of the Program a number of important scientific and applied results were obtained, namely:
1. The object and subject of the scientific direction of CIM research were formulated.
2. The requirements for the CIM scientific theory were formulated.
3. The CIM research methodology within the framework of classical and non-classical scientific rationality was substantiated.
4. The axiomatic-deductive strategy of organizing traditional and scientific CIM theory was substantiated, in particular, knowledge in e-learning systems for Chinese Image Medicine, which meets the semantic quality requirements of electronic courses in training and improving the skills of image therapists as well as Zhong Yuan Qigong online training.
5. The structure of CIM scientific theory, which is consistent with the structure of Integrative scientific medicine theory and the traditional CIM theory, was developed.

  1.     7. The general program of CIM clinical studies was developed on the basis of the probative medicine provisions, taking into account the specifics of an image therapist’s activities.
    8. The requirements were formulated, a common architecture and interface projects of an integrated, onto-oriented information and analytical environment for scientific research, professional healing and Chinese Image Medicine e-learning were developed. As its components, it includes the following systems: the information system of professional healing activity “Image Therapist”, CIM knowledge base, expert (recommendation) system to support diagnostic and therapeutic decision making in CIM, CIM e-learning information system, CIM scientific research information system.
    9. The fragments of CIM ontology, which is the basis of the CIM knowledge base, were developed, and it allows to unify and standardize technologies for presenting information (data and knowledge) in the field of CIM, eliminates subjective factors, polysemantics, the vagueness of concepts and images which CIM- therapists operate with in explicit or implicit form in the process of making diagnostic and therapeutic decisions.
    10. The first version of a multimedia electronic textbook was developed for the study and practice of the first stage of ZYQ on “Eliademy” platform. This textbook integrates various types of educational information: textual, audio, photo and video information.
